We had our family reunion last week it was so fun. I love my family. I think they are all so cool. I am always so excited when everyone gets together and especially when the out-of-towners come on to town. This year everyone was able to come except for my brother Kevin and his family. Jody is expecting a baby and has started going into labor a bit early so they had to stay home. They were sorely missed!!
This year we rented a huge house near Fairview, UT. It was absolutely perfect for our jumbo sized family. There were almost enough bedrooms for everyone to have their own and plenty of floor space for all of the kids. On the property there was a pond with paddle boats and canoes, a sandbox that was a huge hit, trampoline, and plenty of room to run, ride bikes and ATVs! We just loved it!
While we were there one of my nephews was in an ATV accident. He and another nephew were on a four-wheeler and lost control a slammed into a wooden fence post. Logan was on the back and was lucky to only have and few cuts. Davis was hurt pretty badly and was taken to the hospital. He broke, or shattered might be a better word, his cheek bone. He had to have surgery that day but did very well. Although, he was pretty beat up her was so blessed. After looking at the x-rays the surgeon told them that if one of the bone fragments had moved only 2 degrees further he would be blind and after surgery he said that had the bones been pushed any deeper into his face he could have had brain damage! Davis was so blesses!!!! He has done great with the recovery. He didn't even have any pain meds after the surgery, isn't that about unheard of? And he is supposed to have a full recovery. He has been put on a puree diet for 6 weeks but has been a real trooper! I can imagine that at this point smoothies and milkshakes are losing their appeal at this point. All in all we can see how blessed we really are. Although it was such a tragedy for our family and we were all so worried, it could have been so much worse than it really was.
